Many thanks for this article, which gives a real roadmap on “how to optimize speed?”.
It’s true that these ouyils are quite simple to use: I had used wp rocket, which seemed to me on several occasions to be a gas factory. I stopped using it! And I now have access to Hummingbrid Pro and Smush. Everything’s going well, and I’m looking to optimize even further… (nothing will ever be fast enough lol). And I work to target the max (not so hard thanks to wpmudev)

Great news! Is the food recipe schema type for blog posts planned to be added with SmartCrawl in a future ? Or is it already possible to set a post as a Google recipe with this update ?

Is there a wp PWA / AMP plugin wpmu can recommend that works nicely with both smush and hummingbird? I host my sites here and have clients that need PWA functions. Most of the PWA provide caching for site to function like an app offline and curious to see how your plugins can both work without any errors if I install a PWA plugin like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/pwa-for-wp/#description

We all know that typically Elementor is the main cause for slow websites. What maybe we can do is this:

1) Use Elementor to build / design your website.
2) copy out the front end site as html and remake it into a page template using Tool set kit or ACF pro.

Is there a more elaborate tutorial for Elementor and Astra theme? Where I discuss all possible optimizations using Smush Pro and Hummingbird Pro. I need to learn more about asset optimization, learn what I can and cannot optimize so as not to break any part of the site.

Hi Edoardo,

Page builders can be a bit tricky for optimization, they have a lot of their own assets in order to provide the extended functionality and then some of them create extra CSS files as the site is being built which further complicates things for optimization.

Hopefully having presets will help with making the process easier.

Hi I use all of your plugin you mention, on your hosting, but humming bird actually have a lot of problem with elementor all time I need to exclude file from assets optimization or from cdn or both. (in automatically mode). I have vote for a elementor presets.

Sorry to hear you didn’t find this article helpful, we do plan to add presets for popular themes and plugins to help out with Asset Optimization setup, so make sure to cast your vote for Elementor here: https://forms.gle/7iwfSxTd21kn5pdT6

As for the server response times, we’re not experiencing any issues with that so first thing I would suggest is to enable caching in Hosting > Tools tab.
If you’re still having issues on your sites after that, please reach out to our support so we can check what could be the reason for this.
