Hi Mukul Chawla, this explanation about creating separate prices for minutes and hours was enlightening, as I will need to follow this pricing scheme for some specific jobs in the future. Thank you very much.

Thanks Mukul, it does make sense. It looks a bit weird on the invoice though if you’re billing hours and minutes separately like that. I’ll bring it up with Stripe, you’d think it would be relatively easy for them to support fractional quantities.

Julian, Fractional quantities are not supported by Stripe. However, you can create separate pricing for minutes if you want to charge for factional time. Here is an example:

Let’s say you have a product called “Website Maintenance,” so you create two prices in it:

1. Hourly – $120
2. Minutes – $2

Now, if you want to bill someone for 5hrs and 30 minutes of work, you can create an invoice as mentioned below:

1. Select 5 units of Website Maintenace (Hourly)
2. Select 30 units of Website Maintenace (Minutes)

I hope it makes sense.

But you can’t charge for 30 minutes or 15 minutes that way, right?

For those who arrive here and also have the error that does not allow you to update sites via the Hub, the team released a beta version of the WPMU DEV Dashboard that fixed the problem, tested it and worked perfectly, now I’m waiting for the final version to be released to update in all the sites.

I still haven’t used it because I haven’t defined exactly how I’m going to strategically act with my clients. And I still manage clients in more than one country.

Hello there Tim

Just to get this right, do you want to create a Product/Service with a recurring billing type that’d be hourly? Please advise!

With the current setup, you can still create a one-time product for a 1hr job, and then when you bill a client for it you can increase its quantity for the actual amount of hours spent by your team.

Hi N.Fakes, I’m super tuned to the new features, looking forward to being available soon. About the error in the updates, it’s been a few days that my sites can’t be updated by the Hub, there’s always an error, I’ve already communicated it to the team, I hope they can solve it.

Cheers!
