I really like everything about the billing system provided by WPMU Dev. But the only thing that sets me back is that particularly in the invoice, I am not able to input the current month (example “Dec” this month, and “Jan” next month) automatically in the invoice item description.

Yes, you have the option to send two types of invoices: one-time payment and subscription.

Hello, I think that reseller is a very big innovation for all agencies.
I’d like to know if customer invoicing could take place in 2 stages: 1 invoice with 1 one-off payment (e.g. at launch) and 1 monthly invoice as subscription? This would make it possible to bill for site creation, then maintenance, for example. Superb article, very helpful !

There is one point that really encourages me to use your resale and that I believe could be even more prominent: the exclusive IP for each hosting account. I believe it is the factor that most impact the performance that a company can have in the long term with its website and its daily use of email and sales.

Hello Ana,

Client Billings is integrated with Stripe – so when you create a subscription product and your client pays the first invoice the upcoming months charge will be handled automatically.

Hello WPMU DEV,
Just a question regarding Client Billing, if we create a subscription service for our own products, for example, a monthly marketing fee. Does WPMU DEV’s client billing automatically charge the client’s card every month? Or does it only create an invoice that the client has to manually pay? I’m looking for an automatic charge to come out every month as long as the client is signed up, is this possible in The Hub?

For native integrations, we have the LiveChat integrations when using the HUB Client plugin https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/the-hub-client-wpmu-dev/#livechat-chat

We can also take some actions using the Stripe webhooks for it: https://wpmudev.com/docs/hub-2-0/client-billing/#using-stripe-webhooks with that you can take any actions and integrate to any service that would accept the webhook, for example, based on https://zapier.com/apps/google-analytics/integrations/stripe you can when a new customer is added, you can create a measurement.

2) If we already run our own hosting, is there a way to get that set up through Reseller or does it have to be WPMU hosting? We’re aware of your buyout program, but we’re just curious to start.

At this moment it is specific for our hosting, but we are working on “regular product” option, so you will be able to include a custom product on the front end too, however, we don’t have plans to integrate it into cPanel, for example, to deploy automatically deploy a new account there, you would need to do it manually.

We’d love a little more info before we take the jump on the Agency plan to use Reseller. Here are a couple questions to start:

Hi Edoardo

For custom layout you will need to use the custom link, but then yes, it will require a bit of custom coding or a plugin that create those more flexible price tables.
