I’m a big fan of SmartCrawl and I’m excited to see that you’re adding breadcrumbs to the plugin. I think this is a great addition, as breadcrumbs can help improve site navigation and SEO.

I’m particularly interested in the customization options that SmartCrawl offers for breadcrumbs. I’m looking forward to being able to customize the text, links, and appearance of the breadcrumbs to match my site’s branding.

I’m also glad to hear that you’re planning to add a breadcrumb widget and Gutenberg block in the future. This will make it even easier to add breadcrumbs to my site.

Thanks for all the great work you’re doing with SmartCrawl!

Hi

In SmartCrawl Breadcrumbs feature there is no option to disable links. Could you create a fresh ticket with us so we could review your case and take a closer look at your site?

Kind Regards,
Kris

I noticed that the breadcrumbs only display labels without actual links. Am I missing something?

I just found the answer to my own question: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/smartcrawl/#dynamic-macros

I was able to change my Post Label Format to %%ct_country%% (where country is my taxonomy slug) and BOOM, the country name appears in my breadcrumbs!

10/10 for DEV once again :)

For example, the breadcrumbs would be made up of a category and a custom taxonomy. Something like: Home > Food > Canada, where Food is the post Category and Canada is the post Taxonomy.

The reason for this is sometimes a taxonomy is needed for additional categorization, where default Categories just isn’t enough.

It’d be great to build a breadcrumb with SmartCrawl that looks like:

Home > %%category%% > %%custom_taxonomy%%

Looking forward for more features!

“I activated this on one of our sites the instant it showed up – was waiting for a built-in breadcrumbs option to allow us to fully replace Yoast on some sites with just one plugin instead of two.”

Yoast is great, is Smartcrawl a perfect replacement for you?

Hi Phil

Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome!

There is a paragraph in the article that points to the section where it can be found:

“””To activate SmartCrawl’s breadcrumb feature, go to SmartCrawl > Advanced Tools > Breadcrumb and click on activate.”””

Then in the “”Configuring Breadcrumb Settings””, Configuring Breadcrumb Settings part of the article the shortcode and PHP Snippet are mentioned.

Please check if this is the information you are looking for or if you have some additional comments : )
