Hi All2WP

Yes, you can! Some sites are multi-regional and multilingual: for example, a site might have different versions for the USA and Canada, French and English versions of the Canadian content; Google Search tries to find pages that match the searcher’s language.

Here are some tips:

Use different URLs for different language versions.
Google recommends using different URLs for each language version of a page rather than cookies or browser settings to adjust the content language on the page.

Tell Google about your different language versions.
Google supports several different methods for labeling language or region variants of a page, including hreflang annotations and sitemaps. Mark your pages appropriately.

Let the user switch the page language.
Consider adding hyperlinks to other language versions of a page and avoid automatic redirection.

I hope this helps.

Now that we understand a bit more about readability and the test we use to evaluate it, let’s look at these features in SmartCrawl.

Once you install & activate (or update) SmartCrawl, you’ll be greeted by the splash screen, heralding the new Language Support features.”

Question: For seo purpose, are we able to rank a site for multiple languages at the same time?

Now, depending on what language you have set up in WordPress settings, SmartCrawl will use a different formula to calculate the readability score for a number of languages”

This is a must have plugin!

Although the formulas differ, they consistently place heavy emphasis on these two factors: sentence length and word length.

SmartCrawl uses the Flesch-Kincaid Test. What is that exactly? Read on…

– Smart Crawl is really good!

Hello Julian,

I agree with you with these features:

– paragraph length check
– subheading check
– consecutive sentences. Checks if consecutive sentences start with the same word
– passive voice check
– transition words check

If I’m not mistaken, we found these features on Yoast, am I wrong?

Yours sincerely,
Álvaro

Hello Patrick,

Thanks for clarifying my doubts and for reminding me of Adam’s answer :).

And thanks for contributing to SmartCrawl developers with this article that can help them implement Portuguese as well.

Yours sincerely,
Álvaro

Hi Álvaro Novais

As we let you know,

The main reason is related to available resources that we have for each language, to be honest when I was looking for some University papers I only found small examples and one is to adapt Spanish metric to Portuguese, but in the end, I found this interesting article https://oaji.net/articles/2017/601-1498133639.pdf which I forwarded to our developers.

Best Regards
Patrick Freitas

Hi Álvaro

As Adam let you know in this reply:

https://wpmudev.com/forums/topic/smartcrawl-2-20-multilingual-readability/#post-4086021 the main reason is the complexity each language has and the available analysis tests that are available to be integrated into SmartCrawl.

I did a quick check for Portuguese and found an interesting article from UFRGS university, for Portuguese which can speed up the process of implementing this to SmartCrawl, I sent it to plugin developers too.

About the number of Brazilian users, I don’t have this number but I see it is increasing every month ( based on the support that I provide for .com.br sites ), especially on hosting we can see new .com.br websites around :)

Best Regards
Patrick Freitas
