Hi Lucas, they are not the same thing. Instant Indexing using services like IndexNow or Google Web Index API are different to the News Sitemap and Google News. Instant Indexing focuses on getting regular posts from regular sitemaps indexed within 48 hours (instead of a week or more), while the Google News Sitemap is aimed at indexing newsworthy content in a timely manner. Would this configuration have anything to do with the Instant Indexing function? I only found out about this function recently and configuring it takes a bit of work, if this configuration is an easier way to do the same thing, it would be really great!

Very interesting article, I was also confused about Google’s criteria for good articles, I plan to take the time to learn as much as possible about the subject.

Maybe not for me at the moment, as it needs time to keep the blog up to date, but it will be interesting to explain this Smartcrawl functionality to customers.

Oh this is very interesting. I find the google article very confusing when trying to figure out what they deem to be a “good” article but I am interested in trying this new feature. I am glad it is now a feature in Smartcrawl because it will mean if my clients want to be ranked correctly for their content then it will have schema to back up the articles they write.

I had seen the new update a little while ago but hadn’t had time to see what it did in detail.
This looks really interesting and I’ll have to start my own blog to test it out.
In any case, I’m always happy to see new updates on WPMU DEV products and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
