And sorry to hear about your site issues back in 2008, but sounds like it definitely turned into a positive! That’s awesome you’re going on 13 years with the re-built site (and it’s paying you!).

Fortunately, those episodes have decreased almost completely since moving over to WPMUDev! The only one issue I had was flagged up by Defender and resolved very quickly.

You’re right though. It is so stressful. Both identifying the problem and then resolving it. As well as re-building the trust of Google and in some cases the clients you’re working for.

I lost many days/nights resolving problems like this. The most painful experience I had was back in 2008 when I lost absolutely everything off a personal site I had been building. I very nearly gave up completely. I’m glad I didn’t, because 13 years later the re-built site is still going and pays me a living!
