I was also curious to know what the problem would be in using CPanel and having emails on the same server as the website, I’m currently looking for alternatives to the panel I currently use and it’s another one, and I was intrigued as to what the problem with Cpanel would be.

And also seeing that even the most serious cases they faced were not the horror stories I imagined they would be when I was starting to read the article. :) Some of the worst cases mentioned I’ve even come across similar things in real life, such as having problems with other websites on the same hosting as the client.

I think whenever a website gets unpatched, meaning not updated plugins ,theme or WP core then vulnerability starts to kick in. I think with WP defender, it does help like 90% though.
