Although I found it a little outdated, I believe that currently Hummingbird has better functions as well. But I still have a bit of difficulty when it comes to identifying which files I should delay and which ones I should keep loading normally

I think Hummingbird is a pretty useless minification tool. There are some files that it AUTO-MINIFIES and gives me NO CONTROL over to remove from the minified list. And lo and behold, these are the ones that break the site. So even if I switched everything to not be included, minified or combined, it doesn’t matter – my site still breaks. I think this is quite a major flaw in Hummingbird (and I’m already running the latest version).
Any way I can get actual control over the minified files without Hummingbird interfering and not giving me any options?

Has there been any advancements in the minification demystification? It doesn’t make since how software can do such powerful things, yet, minification can’t be figured out and optimized with software. (not cutting down your software here, just a general comment for all of minification)

I just spent a good portion of the day flipping hummingbird minification switches and got absolutely nowhere. Reverting back to disabling it.

This is what I tired. Maybe someone knows of a secondary solution.

Turn Mini on.
Bulk set all to footer, include and combine.
Unchecked minify on any files with .min in the name.
Moved all core jquery to header (and others jquery one by one)
Moved all theme related css to header. Starting with style.css and adding more from there.
Uncheck Combine on style.css, and other important looking css files one by one.
Flip random switches.
Turn Off.

I noticed that the flowchart at the bottom doesn’t refresh when a switch is flipped and Saved. I had to Re-Check files to see the new changes in the flowchart. Is this intended?

When I save a minification combo, is there a period of time I need to wait before checking the site in the browser?

With so many minification options, a successful minification it just seams insurmountable. I believe with 36 files (css and js), and the 9 combos (Included on/off, Combine on/off, Minify on/off, Header, Footer, or Original) there are 94 million combinations. So does that mean I have a 1 in 94 million chance of guessing the right combo? lol

Are there any tools available to testing minificaion scenarios? I tried Chrome Console but didn’t get any meaningful info from it.
