I’ve been using Smush Pro for years, and it’s always been my go-to plugin for image optimization. But with Ultra Smush, I’m able to achieve even better results with minimal quality loss.

I’ve already started using Ultra Smush on all of my WordPress sites, and I’ve seen a significant improvement in my page loading speeds. I’m also using the WebP conversion feature, which is helping me to save even more space.

From the support side, we didn’t get complaints about quality or anything, but the ultra is a lossy compression, so in case your site depends on images ( for example a photographer’s website ) I suggest using the Backup Original image option, you can revert the Bulk Smush at any time.

Thanks for the reply and the link about compressing the PDF thumbnail in WordPress media manager. I wouldn’t even have thought about that! That would be a great addition to WP.

I will certainly put in a feature request for PDF optimization at wpmudev. I don’t know if Smush is the right tool for it, but I’ll leave that to the devs to figure out. :)

Hi Flavio.

Actually this is what Ultra offers, an strong level of compression, but at the same time allows you to keep a great quality, in other words, you are having the best in both ways. And in case you need o adjust the results, keep in mind Smush still offers a way to choose the level of compression by selecting “Basic”, “Super” or “Ultra”.
