It discusses what the Impreza theme is and why it is popular. It also details the testing methodology used to determine the best optimization settings. The results show that using Smush and Hummingbird can significantly improve the performance of Impreza. The best settings for Smush are to enable all recommended settings, CDN, and WebP. The best settings for Hummingbird are to enable all recommended settings, CDN, and Asset Optimization Automatic/Speedy.

I would recommend using Smush and Hummingbird to optimize your Impreza theme. They are both easy to use and can make a big difference in the performance of your website.

Good point Baldafrican! I run IMPREZA on my personal website and got 100%/100% on GTMetrix using CloudFlare to serve around the world: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/capitalwebdesign.ca/HkjCxuf8/

“I dont quite like WP Bakery, it slows down the website loading speed.”

Perhaps you missed the point of this blog post then, All2WP :D

IMPREZA is a WP Bakery-powered theme that I get to load with 100%/100% on GTMetrix. Here’s a test from just now to show you: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/capitalwebdesign.ca/HkjCxuf8/

WP Bakery is not the devil when you have theme developers that know how to build a theme around it!

In this post, a WPMU DEV member shares how to optimize this multipurpose WordPress theme for top speed and best performance

I dont quite like WP Bakery, it slows down the website loading speed. My choice is to use ACF to build those pages instead.

Hello @richard,

Thank you for the suggestion for the additional tests.

TTFB in 4 is probably higher because all the options for optimization in the theme are enabled.

Hi Phil,

thanks for the clarification.
Would be interesting to see an additional test in that case with all optimizations without CDN.
I share that experience with CDN’s having a negative impact on loadtime’s.
Mostly due to that here in the Netherlands all servers are already in close proximity and highspeed internet is everywhere.

Another point is of course the TTFB, 0.02s difference is so small that it could be questioned if it’s worth it to optimize for that.
Also the TTFB between 2&4 seems off? Or did 4 started off with a cold cache? Didn’t expect the TTFB to be higher with the Fast CHI Cache.

As for the results of the free vs paid(with cdn) version of smush, Phil rightly pointed out, his tests were run from a single location whereas all your potential visitors are not. That would be where the CDN benefits will come to the fore. If you are purely focusing on one local location, I would always recommend not to use a CDN.
